sexing cases but rather do an analysis of the subject at large.
I began by establishing an understanding of what sexting was through a definition and news video. I then spotlit the social implications and how sexting has affected the lives of those not even involved in the act through mis-sent messages. I also looked into how prevalent has become as seen by its influence of everyday art and music. This in mind, public service announcements on the subject have been prevalent; I took a look at these and evaluated their ability to persuade and make me laugh. I then discussed the legal implications of these scenarios and what a state of Arizona has passed to further prosecute these cases. As seen below, many question if this is the best method for dealing with the issue.
Some of my most interesting posts discussed how companies have been dealing with this matter. I began by discussing Apple's decision to remove sex related applications from their AppStore. Competitor Microsoft had to mitigate the collateral damage following an advertisement that some felt encouraged sexting. Finally I took a look at how companies nationwide have been dealing with employees utilizing their mobile devices for this use and how the Supreme Court is evaluating the legal implications.
I concluded this blog by emphasizing the scope of this issue through a variety of in-depth statistics. While there are many interesting statistics on which demographics are more prevelant to this naughty trend, I found the desire for power across groups to be most interesting. It is clear that the implications of this trend have pertinent implications on our societies and a variety of stakeholder's in it.

David, I really enjoyed viewing the sexting campaigns on your page all semester. They were all extremely funny and it was very interesting to see how mainstream sexting has become in our society.
ReplyDeleteYou found a lot of data and statistics on teenagers and young adults using sexual messaging on phones, however, I just found something that makes it clear how mainstream sexting has become!

"I'll say, 'You have an amazing body. You have amazing breasts,'" he reports. "The next thing you know, you'll get a picture of a breast," he says with a hearty laugh.
The Massachusetts resident has been enjoying the high-tech flirtation for years now, taking part in a trend the mainstream media has dubbed "sexting," a play on the term "texting" ("sex" plus "text" equals "sext"). The term has made headlines recently, as teens continually get themselves in sticky situations with a form of high-speed communication that thrives on informality, spontaneity, and—for many young folks—bad judgment.
The catch is, Roger isn't a teenager—or even a 20-something. He's a 59-year-old divorcĂ©, and, thanks to his cell phone and a slew of sassy ladies, his love life is more interesting than ever."
I think you should read up on it! He's so proud of his sexting and talks about it so freely. I find it disgusting that a man of his age is doing these types of things.
